Human Rights Solidarity condemns the killing of migrants

Human Rights Solidarity received from reliable sources news of the killing of two immigrants in a detention center for irregular migrants in Sabratha. Guards of the detention center fired live bullets at the migrants inside the center on Thursday evening, October 1, 2020.

Security agencies tried to justify the shooting and killing of migrants by saying “the guards trying to end a mutiny by detainees.

HRS condemns the use of live bullets against the detainees and considers it an excessive use of force and demands an independent investigation into the incident and accountability for those involved in the killing.
