Human Rights Solidarity published the annual report on the Victims of Armed Clashes in Libya during the year 2020. The report documented during the reporting period the number of victims among the dead, wounded, detainees.
According to the report, of the total 2’028 casualties, 62% of the victims were combatants, while the civilian casualties were 771, including 90 children.
The report presented a detailed account of the number of victims in general and for each month, the categories of victims, and their fate, whether dead, wounded, or prisoners. In addition, the report represented the geographical distribution of the places of casualties.
The city of Tripoli topped the statistics of the number of victims with 949 victims, which accounted for more than two thirds of the total victims of armed confrontations in Libya during the reporting period. Most of victims in Tripoli were victims of the attacks by the militias of Khalifa Haftar on the city and its suburbs.
